Holy Roller

Igor Cukrov, one of the two Croatian lead singers, surprised the press today by revealing he had studied theology and was even thinking of becoming a priest. When asked how his degree in theology had shaped his show biz career, he said that it gives him a psychological balance that helps him share positive energy with the audience listen . When asked to sing something out of the church repertoire, he sang a song in an old Croatian dialect listen.

Igor went to this year’s Eurovision after participating in a popular Croatian TV show similar to Australian Idol crossed with Big Brother, something which exposed him to 20 million people across five countries and which he feels really helped him with his career listen .

The band’s other lead singer Andrea Susnjara who also has an excellent music background, sings a powerful vocals in Igors song. “We are really happy to have the opportunity to present our song in Moscow. It’s a dream come true. I believe it’s an excellent start for our career,” she said.

Croatia is the first song in the second semifinal. Although the Croatian band is well aware of the difficulty of the task, they are resolute to stay on the course.
