Swedish artist Malena Ernman is a famous opera star who won her place at the Eurovision through the Swedish song contest “Melodifestvalen”. She still finding her way on a popular music stage and according to her own words, “feels like a virgin”.Still, Malena feels comfortable both with opera and popular music listen. To prove this, she sang a piece of opera and a world-famous composition “Summertime”.
To the question what is more difficult – to be an opera or a pop-singer, Malena answered that these are two totally different activities which cannot be compared listen.
She added that pop-singers do a lot to make classical music more popular. The diva told that she wants to record an album which would comprise both styles.
According to Malena, her colleagues in opera respect her and are jealous at the same time. She sang an extract from one of her favourite Arias listen.
Originally the Swedish show included eight persons, but this had to be reduced to comply with Eurovision rules. Now Marlena will perform with a group of four girls on a stage decorated with ice columns and masks listen – all these effects promise to make Malena Ernman’s show one of the most spectacular on Eurovision-2009.
