Superhero attacks Radio

Czech Republic - photographer Indrek Galetin (EBU)One of the most numerous teams of Eurovision-2009 gave its first press-conference. The band “Gypsy.cz” of 6 people, the maximum for the contest, is representing the Czech Republic.

Radoslav Banga, leader of the band and ethnic gypsy, performs in a bright superhero costume. “The superhero image is universal and it is a special symbol for us. Gypsies are rebellious, despite prejudice against them, and I want to be a ‘supergypsy’ on this stage”, in this way the artist explained the unusual choice of their stage image listen.

According to Radoslav, their composition aims at uniting gypsies all over the world, since the music (especially at Eurovision) makes people closer, no matter what nationality they are. In the artists’ opinion, this song is capable of giving a huge outburst of unity to the audience in just three minutes listen.

He closed by making controversial comments about the standard of music played on radio stations listen.

Radim SMETANA (HOD), Radoslav Banga, Vojtech Lavicka, Tibor Zida, Noemi Fialova, Matej Cerny, Oliver Lipensky (lead artists).
