Unconventional Fire

At the Finnish press conference most questions were about the unusual staging of the Waldo’s People’s song.

“We didn’t want it to be a conventional dance show,” said Marko Reijonen, the lead singer of Waldo’s People. “It is a very energetic song. We tried to think of a good visual element to match it and chose fire!” This is why the band’s show will include performance by professional fire artists listen.

According to the singer, the video part of the show will match the music video for this song. “It’s like a video clip. We did not want any trivial stuff, such as sexy-looking girls. So we developed a real story, but still with girls”.

Since the song goes like ‘I don’t want to lose control’, the moderator asked the band’s lead female singer, if she would lose control in case she won. “Absolutely!” she said without any doubt.

Waldo's People Very Much in Control

Finnish group Waldo's People will bring an overdue breath of fresh Nordic air to the Eurovision with this high-octane rock number. With not two but four lead singers, the stage gets a little crowded at times, leaving little space for the fire artists whose pyrotechnic antics add a certain danger to their Stage Show.

Waldo is already an accomplished artist in Scandinavia with over ten year's of nightclub hits, the group seems to be a certainty to qualify for the final but it remains to be seen how many of their potential voters will be away at the nightclub during the crucual live Saturday Night broadcast of the final in Europe.
