Moldova draws on Tradition

Hora is a traditional Moldavian dance which was performed by people wanting to make peace and the main message of the composition performed by Moldovan singer Nelly Cuobany is unity.

Nelly said she could not even imagine that “the stage would be so beautiful”. Nelly admired the scale of the contest: “We have a unique possibility to get to know the whole world in just two days and bring our idea s to everyone”.

She has previously successfully participated in many song contests, such as the New Wave and Slavyansky Bazar. She was dreaming of victory at Eurovision 2009 listen but she would be happy with the second or the third place as well.

In the past Nelly already sang on the same stage with Patricia Kaas, but this time it is to compete with the French diva. “It is a great honor to compete with the artist of such level”, says Cuobany. “Patricia is world-famous, but we work in different music styles”.

The Moldova delegation was represented by: Vitalie COJOCARU (HOD); Nelly CUOBANY (lead artist); Inga MILOSAVLJEVIC (PR-manager).

Getting intimate with Moldova

Breaking the cliché, Moldova has submitted an ethno-jazz singer Geta Burlacu to the Eurovision this year. Geta certainly felt at home in the arena listen praising the intimacy she could achieve despite the large space.
